When asked what I’d like for my birthday or Christmas, I now rarely know what to say. I actually have everything I really need. Long gone are the days when I always wanted or thought I needed something, of course, I was younger and “things” where much more important. But life changes our priorities and therefore us. What once seemed important, in time, takes a backseat or disappears completely.

If I have learnt something in the past year, it is that what I really need is the gift of time to spend with people. Now, more than ever it is harder to come by and therefore even more valuable to give and to receive. The time I have left, I want to spend it with people I care for and this is what I call “the gift of time.”
