We are responsible for our lives.

We are responsible for the roads we take…

We are responsible for what happens in our lives. That leap we take, that step in any direction is our own doing, however, unconscious it is, WE take it. Life doesn’t just happen to us. Things do get in the way and shape us, but we choose how we react to them. When you take a step forward and fall, it’s your choice how long you stay on the ground. You have a choice, you can get up and start again anytime.

It is not easy. Some of us are more resilient than others in the face of adversity, and we take longer to learn and change our ways. Yet, the moment you believe you are responsible, and stop blaming others, or life, you take a weight of your shoulders and are free to move on, but you must believe it first. Believe in yourself. And hope is what will encourage you to keep walking and looking ahead.

The road is not that long, really. Yet, it might seem so when your heart is heavy, and every step seems like an insurmountable obstacle. The challenges on the way are many, but in the end, it’s how we choose to carry our burdens, deal with the obstacles, and in short; live our lives.

You are responsible for your own happiness, you are the only one who can dictate what you want and need, even if your peers don’t agree. Let them think what they want. Sometimes you have to go against the grain and do what your heart tells you even if it’s met with disapproval.

You are responsible. Have the courage to admit it, and you will find that this will bring you the strength to change gears if what you are doing with your life is not working.

Hold on to that belief, and you will find your way…
