As one of Murakami’s characters in Men without Women says after pondering about his successful career and his love affairs with women, if all that is taken away from him, he asks himself, “Who am I?” And this, as the school year comes to an end today with a mixture of both happiness and sadness, I too ask myself, “Who am I?”
Who am I without my colleagues, my classroom, my kids, my almost sole purpose? I have the whole summer to ponder about this and hopefully with my beloved colleagues farewell gift ” The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures,” I will find out!
May you too find out who you are too! We are more than what we do on a daily basis.
