Building stronger bonds and friendships at middle age.

They say the older you get the harder it is to make new meaningful friendships, but I disagree.  In my case, I have my old friendships which I treasure but also new friendships that have developed now in my 50’s that I  hold very dear too.

It may be due to the fact that I  feel comfortable in my own skin at this age, and have become more open and in tune with people whom I can relate to. It  also helps that being single again, I have more time to meet new people.

Whatever the reasons, all my friendships and relationships are thriving now more than ever and I am overjoyed and grateful that everyone I meet has an interesting story to share and enrich my life in some way.

Friendships are often set aside when one is in a relationship which cuts the chances of being able to expand one’s circle. Never again will I allow this to happen. I wouldn’t want to miss out on all the interesting people out there with their very own unique stories.
