It could be worse, you may not see a sunrise again.

Now, when I’m faced with some sort of hardship since my friend passed, I always go back to that time when he slipped away in my hands. Nothing, after that, can be as bad. I use this “loss” to gauge many of my feelings now, whether it be anger, sadness or loneliness. “It could be worse, I could be losing a friend or family member.” This sets me straight and helps me put life into perspective and move on.

Because life is about being able to jump through the hoops, fall, brush off the dust, get up and try to make it to the end as gracefully and happily as possible.

Tom helps me even now that he is gone. “Laura, it could be worse, you may not see a sunrise again…” I can almost hear him say.

NB: This is a repost from August 28th and as I look back I see that this was the perfect way to face and cope at the moment. Thank you, friend.
