There is a time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to love and a time to grieve. There is no avoiding any of them. They are the balance of life, which we all must experience whether we like it, or not.
“But I don’t want to cry or grieve!” Sure you don’t, but if we don’t experience these things, this would mean we are numb to life and would resemble psychopaths who are unable to feel pain or empathy.
Whatever makes us happy at some time will eventually hurt, either because we lost what we had or because it just became part of our pasts and we’ll miss those days.
I miss many things and have cried plenty and grieved, but I have come out maybe not stronger but glad that I was human enough to feel and live those moments. It is actually called nostalgia: the ability to relive and miss wonderful moments, and for that I’m grateful.
There is a time and place for everything. At the end, all those experiences will make a wonderful story, the story of our lives.
