Allow yourself to look back only to see how far you’ve come.

We mope about how we would do things better given a second chance, which is just like crying over spilt milk. All this does is ruin the present and even the future. You can’t live stuck in the “could’ve, should’ve” frame of mind.

I used to waste precious time doing this, and was stuck in an endless downward spiral of self-pity, resentment and self-doubt. Stuck there, unable to see beyond the past. My head was always turned back. It was only when I stopped looking back and started looking at my present and future possibilities, was I able to start living and enjoy all the opportunities life has to offer. There is no second chance to redo anything, but there is a second chance at living life differently. Change your perspective and your life seems to unfold much more easily without the chains of the past.

Now, I only look back to laugh at something I once thought was important, or to see how far I’ve come. It’s been a long and hard road, but I’m here now, present and ready to enjoy what’s ahead. I hope you do the same.
