As a young girl I was always afraid of losing things, whether they were material things, friends or people. So I tried to hold on to them tight. The thought of loss was worse than the actual fact of loosing them.
We become too attached, and as I learnt later on, it’s not a good thing. You cannot control your losses. You do your best to keep what you have, and then it’s up to chance whether they stay with you or you loose them along the way.
The freedom that comes from not being afraid of losing anything or anyone is invaluable. You allow life to happen, relationships to flow without desperately trying to control what is not yours in the first place. Everything in life is borrowed. Learn to set everything free and you will be happier.
