Some chapters must be closed so we can go ahead and move on to the next. No, it’s not easy, but who said life was easy? As M. Scott Peck says in his book “The road Less Travelled,” “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult, once we truly understand and accept it, then life is no longer difficult. Because it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.”
Holding on to the past and not letting go because we can’t figure out what happened, keeps us trapped in the past. In order to move on, we have to rewrite the chapter without the help of the other party involved.
Close the chapter by accepting that it’s over, but in your own terms. Find your ending, rewrite the ending that best fits you so that you can slowly let go and be free to enjoy what is to come.
